Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need a system filter?

A central heating system filter is a small, yet powerful device that fits by your boiler or in your airing cupboard. It captures damaging debris and sludge from the water in your heating system and prevents it from entering your boiler and causing damage. It'll protect your boiler and radiators and help the heating system to last longer and work more efficiently.

Why do I need a Powerflush?

A British Gas Powerflush will improve your central heating system, help you use less energy and keep you warm at home. If your radiators have cold spots or are cooler at the bottom than the top, you may have blocked radiators with sludge inside. A Powerflush will remove the sludge and make your radiators hotter and more efficient.

Why do I need a Radiator Valve or TRV?

Thermostatic Radiator Valves help control the radiator temperature in each room by automatically turning off heat once the room has reached the right temperature. This saves money by only using the energy you need.

Why do I need pipe protection?

Your boiler's waste pipe may go outside and can freeze in cold weather, stopping your boiler from working. A Condensulate or a trace heater can prevent that. A Condensulate is an insulated pipe that can cope with temperatures of up to -15C.
