The updated meter read will show in your online account summary and will be used to calculate your next bill when it's due.
You should be able to find this on any bill or statement from British Gas. Your customer number can be in one of the following formats only:
- Starting with '85' then followed by ten numbers
- Starting with 'BGX' then followed by four or five numbers
- Starting with 'A' then followed by up to eight numbers

Economy 7 meters have two sets of meter readings. On your meter they could be labelled as ‘Normal’ (High, Day or Rate 1), and ‘Low’ (Night, or Rate 2).
